Education Innovation Council

The problem

The future of education should not be shaped solely by those who write policy, conduct research, develop technology, or fund programmes. It should also be shaped by those who lead schools, support learners, and implement change every day.

Educators and institutions

  • Schools innovate daily yet rarely influence global policy conversations.

  • Educators seldom feel heard by edtech providers.

  • Policy-makers and tech funders are shaping the future of education without consulting teachers.

EdTech providers and innovators

  • Frontline educators are difficult to reach and consult.

  • Institutional buyers focused on evidence and impact are hard to meet beyond transactional sales.

  • There is no clear platform to engage with global leaders on ethical, inclusive edtech.

  • There is no universal standard for ‘tech for humanity’.

How the EIC responds

The Council is the table where those two problems are addressed.

One table

Educational leaders and EdTech providers sit with policymakers, researchers, and international organisations. Practitioners help shape the conversation. Innovators meet the people who lead classrooms and institutions.

A journey, not a single event

Monthly international dialogues, strategy discussions, practitioner testimony, industry briefings, and publications. For leaders, that is typically one to two hours a month. For providers, it is a conversation with practice.

Annual Programme of Engagement

The Education Innovation Council has been designed as a year-round programme rather than a single event.

Members will be invited to participate in a range of activities, including:

Monthly international dialogues Global strategy discussions UNESCO-linked consultations
Industry briefings and innovation showcases Practitioner testimony and evidence gathering International publications and reports
Specialist discussions on AI, innovation, inclusion, and future learning Opportunities to engage with IFIP specialist networks and advisory groups World Inclusion Congress activities and events

The precise programme will evolve throughout the year in response to emerging developments and opportunities.
